The dust and oxide particles are settling from a thick weekend!
Adele Jacques, the force behind Paris Loves LA, was here with her band tracking some Serge Gainsbourg covers as well as some originals. Live to tape? Yes. Sounding good? Yes.
Junghouse was here bringing down the house with their vintage Sunn amps and big sound.
Scaredycat was here on Saturday tracking 9 seriously fast songs clocking in at a mere 7.3 minutes….total !! And yes, the tape was rolling. That’ll make a cool 7-inch!
And yes, why not lop off some of that annoying high-end and add some harmonic distortion with a little tracking to tape? THEN digitize it. You’ll feel better in the morning. Contact us for details. -b
Stephen Becker (a.k.a. Le Concorde), who operates the B-room here at company, is currently remixing a track for Eric Matthews (Sub Pop) and Richard Davies’ forthcoming Cardinal album. Recent sessions have included guest guitarist, Adam Zimmon.

So this winter, as the sun continues to shine in Los Angeles, many things are happening and many more on the horizon here…
Cut Chemist continues to host many guest artists in the studio with Producer Carlos Nino. Introducing…Radar Brothers Family Magnetic! Getting a new record together with the full 6-piece family unit onto analog tape, Name of the Moon begins voicings sessions, Le Concorde moves in to the studio, boxViolet moves across the street, Timonium “reunites” and covers Pale Saints as well as furthering their own full-length which needs to surface soon, Madlib prepares some tracks, T. Model Ford releases, Matteran Ghost releases, Hussey faceplants, Mia Doi Todd transfers to ones and zeros, and the unnamed band that I officially think should be called ‘Powers’ continues to work their debut onto tape.
New work by Carrie Rose posted
Wrapping up the Adam Rudolph CD/digipak design with stunning photography by Adam himself, designing the Mia Doi Todd CD/LP/Poster, again with stunning artwork by Mia herself, getting Cut Chemist (dot com) up to date and ready for a new release in the spring.
More to come as 2011 is gearing up to be a creative year.
